The clam and oyster harvest for North Bay (Case Inlet) will open on September 1 and end on September 30, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced.
Harvesting is allowed one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset on state-owned oyster reserves and state-owned-tidelands south and east of the power line crossing. Harvesting is not allowed at night.
The WDFW says harvesting is best during low tides.
The Department of Health recommends any shellfish harvested between May and September should be cooked thoroughly to avoid illness.
An extended and resigned season is expected in 2019.
