Police say the shooting occurred outside the convenience store and that two suspects fled the scene.

SEATTLE — One man died after he was shot in the chest and found behind a 7-Eleven convenience store in Seattle on Tuesday.

Just before 3 p.m., Seattle police officers responded to the store in the 7200 block of Sand Point Way Northwest for reports of a man who was shot in the chest, according to Public Information Officer Detective Eric Muñoz. Police believe the shooting happened outside the 7-Eleven, which is located near Magnuson Park.

The man, whose age police have not yet disclosed, was found in an alley behind the convenience store. First responders attempted CPR, but he died at the scene, police said.

Police said the man did not work at the store and had arrived to the store in an SUV. Police are now searching the car for evidence.

Two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle but have not been found, however, police are not releasing information about the suspects or the getaway vehicle as it is an active investigation.

Police said this incident was not a drive-by shooting and are working to learn what led up to the shooting.
