On Saturday the community of Darrington gathered to remember Linda McPherson, who died in the Oso landslide.
When a small community like Darrington loses one of its own, it's more than losing a neighbor or co-worker, it's losing family.
She meant a lot more than I thought, you know, it's nice to see what a small town community can pull together and help each other out through these tough times, said McPherson's nephew, Mark Fusetti.
A lifelong member of the community, McPherson graduated from Darrington High School and was the town librarian for 28 years, until she retired three years ago.
Her memory lives on with all the lives that she touched.
She was an absolutely amazing woman, said a friend. She was very independent and I think there was just not a thing she thought she couldn't do.
