PAWS gears up for 'Wild Night' gala to continue Washington wildlife rescue, pet adoptions

An Oct. 5 gala event will take place at Fremont Studios in Seattle. KING 5's Farah Jadran is the event emcee. A live auction and dinner are planned for Wild Night.

SEATTLE — One of Western Washington's biggest animal welfare fundraisers is happening on Saturday, Oct. 5.

PAWS Wild Night will be held at Fremont Studios in Seattle. It will feature a dinner, the Puppy Playground, a program, and a silent and live auction

The organization's CEO, Heidi Yamada, stopped by the KING 5 studios to talk about the event and share the importance of pet fostering and adoption. To see the full interview and a cameo by rescued dog, "Letty," click the video player above.

PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society) focuses on helping cats, dogs and wild animals "go home and thrive – whether home is the family room or the forest."

The nonprofit recently moved its wildlife operations to a new rehabilitation center to the City of Snohomish.

KING 5 anchor Farah Jadran and auctioneer John Curley are hosting the event.
