Names for the newest family members of Point Defiance Zoo have been announced! The beautiful, two-week-old Nigerian dwarf goats - a twin brother and sister - will officially be called Sugar and Spice. Sugar, for the exquisitely tri-colored female, and Spice, for her handsome black and tan brother.
Sugar and Spice round out the herd of 17 Nigerian dwarf goats in the Kids' Zone at the zoo. Their well-named companions consist of their mother, Hazel, and other endearing titles such as Buttons, Buckles, Newman, Hanson, and the eldest goats, Dewey and Porter.
Zoo visitors and fans voted on three pairs of names submitted by zookeepers; Sugar and Spice won out over the options of Coral and Elsie, and Opal and Agnes.
The adorable doelings are currently five pounds each, but they are expected to grow to be two feet tall and upwards of 75 pounds.
