Pierce County must pay more than $340,000 in penalties after a Thurston County judge ruled Friday that county prosecutor Mark Lindquist violated the Public Records Act.
This stems from a legal battle with a former sheriff's deputy who says Lindquist sabotaged her career.
The county has already spent more than $620,000 fighting the release of text messages from Lindquist's phone.
His attorney says the messages were private, but the judge disagreed.
Lindquist is running for re-election this year.
