Plane makes emergency landing on North Spokane Corridor

A trainee pilot and senior co-pilot had to make an emergency landing on a highway in north Spokane.

SPOKANE, Wash. — A trainee pilot and senior co-pilot had to make an emergency landing on a highway in north Spokane because they believed they had run out of fuel.

After attempting to make it back to Felts Field, but being unsure if they had enough altitude to make it, the pilot landed the plane on the North-South Corridor.

Once on the ground, the pilots discovered there was a second gas tank on board the plane.

After refueling the tank and a quick safety inspection, the pilot took off from the highway and returned to its base.

No one was injured due to the abrupt landing.

WSDOT East posted a video of the plane taking off from the highway.
