The Pierce County Sheriff's office says a 36-year-old mother fatally shot her 16-year-old daughter inside their Bonney Lake home and then shot herself.
The mother's boyfriend found their bodies just after 10:30 p.m. Friday.
Police found a note written by the mother, which leads them to believe it was a murder-suicide.
Neighbors say the daughter was confined to a wheelchair. They often heard the two arguing outside when the school bus arrived.
"I can't comprehend it. I just can't. Even though she was a handful, I'm sure, I can't comprehend that," said neighbor Patsy Warner.
The mother and daughter's names have not been released by the medical examiner.
Bonney Lake High School will have counselors available for students and staff on Monday.
