King County Sexual Assault Resource Center continues 'lifesaving' bilingual survivor support

For more than 40 years, the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center has been helping sexual assault survivors and their families.

RENTON, Wash. — Every year, the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center (KCSARC) helps thousands of survivors.

Services including therapy, legal services, and more.

While KCSARC is ready to help survivors, part of its mission also includes sexual assault prevention education.

Last year, KCSARC provided support and services to about 5,000 sexual assault survivors and their families.

Among the survivors who were helped, about 25 percent of them identify as Latinx.

Because KCSARC says communicating with all survivors is crucial in the path of healing, the organization has a program called, "Dando Voz," or "giving voice."

The clinical services director for Dando Voz, Augustina Eiff, joined KING 5 Mornings on Sunday to talk about the services offered in Spanish by bilingual and bicultural staff members.

Dando Voz offers a support line with a Spanish-speaking staff member ready to answer the call just like the KCSARC line.

Si necesita ayuda o apoyo en español - llame al (425) 282-0324. La línea y la ayuda son gratuitas.

Llame de lunes a viernes - entre las 8am y las 5pm.
