Puget Sound air quality to stay between 'good' and 'moderate' this week

This week's air quality around Puget Sound should be a welcome relief from the unhealthy conditions seen last week.

Washington state’s air quality saw significant improvement on Monday, with most monitoring stations reporting “good” levels across the entire state after a stretch of hazy skies and unhealthy conditions for sensitive groups.

Only a handful of monitoring stations were reporting “moderate” air quality in spots early Tuesday morning.

There is a chance of northerly winds pushing some wildfire smoke from British Columbia later on Tuesday, but we shouldn’t expect much in the Puget Sound region. If the air quality does worsen in certain areas, it won’t be nearly as bad as last week.

Though Tuesday will be warm and hazy, onshore winds will kick back in Wednesday, once again improving the air quality.
