KING COUNTY, Wash. — A company owned by former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara has sued a popular clothing retailer over a failure to keep up with payments for merchandise.
The House of LR&C filed the lawsuit Tuesday in a King County court against Saks Fifth Avenue LLC, saying its "Saks Off Fifth" brand owes over $200,000 for unpaid merchandise.
Court documents obtained by KING 5 show that The House of LR&C alleges that product deliveries from May 2023 were not paid for by Saks. The House of LR&C eventually stopped making deliveries in February 2024 due to the lack of payments.
A written demand was delivered to Saks on July 8, the lawsuit says, and Saks acknowledged receiving the written demand. The House of LR&C says despite this, Saks has not made any effort to repay the $207,584.68 it owes.
The House of LR&C was founded by Wilson and his wife along with former CEO of Lululemon Athletica and longtime Starbucks executive Christine Day. Its Good Man Brand, the company named in the lawsuit under The House of LR&C, was founded in 2016 and is "made for the man-on-the-move who seeks timeless, authentic, and sustainable style with a premium, modern edge," according to its website.
Saks Off Fifth had a downtown Seattle location which shut down in late July. "Through the regular course of business we continually evaluate store performance and other factors, and, from time to time, may determine it necessary to close a store. After careful consideration, Saks OFF 5TH has decided to close its Seattle, Washington location," the company said in a statement to KING 5 last month.
The lawsuit seeks the owed amount above as well as "all sums of interest, late fees, legal fees, and other charges, including interest."
Saks has not responded to a request for comment on the lawsuit.
