Russell Wilson visits Alibaba headquarters in China

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was seen fraternizing at e-commerce giant Alibaba, the chief global rival for Amazon.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was seen fraternizing with an enemy of Seattle last week. No, not Jimmy Garoppolo or Aaron Rodgers, but rather executives at e-commerce giant Alibaba, the chief global rival for Amazon.

Alibaba posted about Wilson and his wife Ciara’s visit as well. Their social media team mentioned that Wilson and Ciara met with Alibaba executives and tried out Alibaba’s new payment method, Alipay.

In fact, Wilson can be seen using Alipay in the video. Alipay is owned by Ant Financial, which has been attempting to establish links to the United States market with regards to e-commerce.

Wilson, who is no stranger to being a celebrity spokesman, could very well be gearing up to support Alipay’s attempted expansion into the U.S. market.

It’s worth pointing out that Wilson’s social media app, TraceMe, has financial backing from both Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Joe Tsai, the co-founder of Alibaba.
