King County searchers are looking for an overdue hiker near North Bend.

A King County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said John Wright, 50, of University Place went hiking Friday by himself.

He was supposed to return to pick up his daughter around 6:30 p.m. His wife received a call about 20 minutes after that from her daughter saying he hadn t picked her up.

I really had hoped if he was turned around, he would have hiked out by now so I'm a little more concerned that maybe he's injured, said Wright's wife, Virginia.

The search began Saturday morning.Wright's car was found at the Snoqualmie River Middle Fork Trailhead off Exit 34 along Interstate 90.

I'm getting calls pretty much every 30 minutes with updates, said Virginia. That's helped keep my mind off of it. Keeping my daughter busy, entertaining her, talking to her, just walking around the house doing little projects just trying to keep busy.
