SEATTLE — A 28-year-old man is in critical condition after a shooting in Seattle's Cherry Hill neighborhood on Sunday night, according to Seattle police.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at around 9:15 p.m. in the area of 18th Avenue and East Jefferson Street. When officers arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound. Officers performed life-saving measures until Seattle fire medics arrived to take the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
The victim was driving eastbound past 21st Avenue when shots rang out, according to police. Passengers in the car said they thought the car had hit something in the road until they realized that the driver had been shot.
Homicide detectives and officers with the crime scene investigation unit responded to the scene. Officers are still investigating what led up to the shooting and have not identified any suspects.
