Driver of 'Belltown Hellcat' refuses cooperation during inspection, police say

Hudson brought the vehicle in for inspection Friday but refused to cooperate, according to the City Attorney's Office.

SEATTLE — Almost three months after he was first given notice that the "Belltown Hellcat" was not in compliance with Seattle city code, Miles Hudson has not fixed the issue on his controversial vehicle.

The Seattle City Attorney's Office confirmed Hudson brought the vehicle in for an inspection at the West Precinct on Friday. Hudson posted an image of police looking at his vehicle on his infamous Instagram story. Images on Reddit showed police looking at the car while he appeared to stand behind it with a hood covering his face.

Hudson did not cooperate with the inspection despite bringing the vehicle in and Seattle police told him the inspection was incomplete as a result, the City Attorney's Office said.

Hudson was dealt a noise control violation notice March 29. He was told he needed to get the vehicle into compliance by April 15. He would face a maximum fine of up to $1,300 per day after that date until the vehicle was inspected and approved by the city.

It has been 63 days since that deadline passed, meaning that Hudson's maximum fine would be $81,900, not including attorney fees and other costs. City Attorney Ann Davison requested a default judgment in Hudson's civil case after he failed to respond to the court by the May 30 deadline. His next scheduled hearing in that case is June 18.

Court documents did show Hudson reached out to the court via email May 30. He said the necessary parts would be coming in the following week, and installation would be done after that.

Even if he did get the parts installed on the vehicle, it appears his refusal to cooperate keeps him in non-compliance with the court order.

Hudson is also facing unrelated accusations of stalking and assault, with court appearances in those cases set for late summer.
