Car crashes into martial arts school in Seattle's Interbay neighborhood

The driver fled from the scene before police and fire personnel arrived.

SEATTLE — A car crashed into a martial arts school in Seattle's Interbay neighborhood early Friday morning. 

A white SUV with Texas plates crashed completely through the front of Framework BJJ Seattle, which holds jiu-jitsu classes, according to the business website

The crash caused extensive damage to the front and inside of the building. 

The crash occurred at around 12:42 a.m. on the 900 block of Elliott Avenue West. Seattle police and fire responded to the scene. Blood was found inside the vehicle and airbags were deployed, but the driver had fled the scene before officers arrived. 

A witness told police that the driver of the white SUV had sideswiped his car and then crashed into the martial arts studio at a high rate of speed. Surveillance video was collected from the scene as evidence. 

No arrests have been made at this time.
