Child falls out of 3-story window

A 2-year-old child reported fell out of a window of a three-story building Sunday, Seattle firefighters said.

A 2-year-old was hospitalized after the child reported fell out of a window of three-story building Sunday, Seattle firefighters said.

The incident happened in the 1100 block of Pike Street. 

Seattle fire officials say the child was alert when crews arrived at the scene and appeared to have no immediate major injuries.

Medics transported the child to Children's Hospital for evaluation. His condition was unknown.

While we don't know the specifics about how the child fell in this case, we wanted to share some safety steps you can take, according to the National Safety Council:

      Use window guards or locks
      Do not allow any window to be open more than four inches
      Move furniture away from windows so children cannot climb on it.
