Speak With Purpose, a nonprofit based in Renton, will host its 10th annual public speaking showcase on Sunday, June 16, at the Seattle Symphony's Benaroya Hall.

SEATTLE — Hundreds of young speakers have been preparing for a big event to show off their skills on stage on Sunday, June 16.

The 10th Annual Rising Voices Showcase presented by the nonprofit Speak With Purpose (SWP) will take place at the Seattle Symphony's Benaroya Hall.

The event starts at 1 p.m. The youngest speakers are in fourth grade.

SWP's mission is to empower youth to use their voices with confidence and passion.

The group aims to encourage the remarkable talents of young individuals and show them they belong on big stages such as the one they will be on for the showcase event.

More than 100 young speakers will present on June 16 but the overall program serves 750 students from King County public schools.

SWP has set a goal to raise $100,000 to continue its mission.
