SEATTLE There is a rush on tickets for the final days of the King Tut exhibit at the Pacific Science Center.
There were long lines of people New Year s Day who purchased their tickets in advance. The phones kept ringing in the front office and workers kept telling people the bad news.
The King Tut exhibit is sold out until 10:45 Saturday evening, an employee told one of the many callers.
Devin and Greg Guerrero of University Place planned ahead.
We checked it out online and they were sold out for the whole week. So we bought ahead last week, said Greg Guerrero.
Kelcey and Christina Hendricks, who were in line Tuesday, found it easy to understand the attraction.
It's King Tut. It's a big deal, said Christina.
He is not going to be here again. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity so we just wanted to make sure we got here before he left town, said Kelcey.
The King Tut exhibit contains more than 100 artifacts that represent 2,000 years of ancient Egyptian history. The public was first invited into the Pacific Science Center to see it last May. The last day for the exhibit is Sunday. Once it leaves Seattle, it will return to Egypt permanently.
Adult tickets are $27.50 - $32.50. There are a handful of tickets left. The best way to get one is to order online at the Pacific Science Center website.
