The University of Washington rang out in celebration of the school's newest icon, a set of carillon bells on top of Kane Hall.
The bells played a full concert of songs on Thursday leading off with the national anthem.
The Gordon Stuart Peek Foundation Carillon is the only set of carillon bells in Western Washington. It's made up of 47 bells and cost approximately $1.1 million to build, according to UW News.
The instrument is a chorus of bells with an organ-like keyboard played by a musician called a 'carillonneur.'
The UW bells range from the size of a flower pot to 5 feet in diameter, weight more than 1,500 pounds.
Of course, the featured song of the concert was 'Bow Down to Washington.'
