The streets of Seattle's South Park neighborhood were lined with people watching several live performances during the Sea Mar Fiestas Patrias Parade on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Joyas Mestizas - a youth Mexican Folklórico dance group - was among the performers that were on the parade route Saturday morning.
The 2024 theme is “Unifying Our Communities” to symbolize the "proud heritage," according to Sea Mar Community Health Centers.
Sea Mar said it aims to connect with organizations, groups and individuals to learn and share more about the Latino culture.
Fiestas Patrias is hosted by Sea Mar Community Health Centers in partnership with Seattle Center Festál and runs from Sept 14 to Sept. 15.
Throughout the two-day event at Seattle Center, attendees can enjoy traditional Latin American food, live music, traditional folk-dance performances, a health fair offering health information, free health screenings, Zumba and Viva Art Exhibit, children’s activities and more. This event is free and open to the public.
