One found dead after residential fire in Seattle

A man who had a medical episode passed out while cook and may have died from medical complications, not the fire, according to investigators.

SEATTLE — One person was found dead after a fire in a residential building in Seattle Tuesday afternoon. 

The fire was contained to one unit of the building in the 300 block of West Roy Street near the city's Queen Anne and Uptown neighborhoods. 

According to preliminary information from Seattle police, the person had a medical episode while cooking. After he passed out, a stove fire grew out of control, setting the rest of the apartment on fire.

The deceased male appears to have died from the medical incident, not the fire, according to investigators.
