SEATTLE — One man was injured in a shooting after a business owner confronted suspects who were attempting to break into his business in south Seattle early Friday morning.
The person who was shot was the business owner's friend. It is unclear exactly what led up to the shooting.
Around 2 a.m., a business owner called 911 and reported that multiple people were attempting to break into his property on the 3500 block of Rainier Avenue South and that he was going to confront them.
Within minutes, 911 dispatch received a report about a shooting at that same location. When Seattle police officers arrived, they found one man with a gunshot wound. Officers and fire personnel provided aid, and the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
After the shooting, three people turned themselves into the Seattle Police Department South Precinct. It's unclear what their roles were in the incident.
Detectives with the Seattle Police Department's Gun Violence Reduction Unit are investigating.
