Police investigating deadly shooting in Capitol Hill

The shooting took place as people were still out celebrating Seattle Pride.

SEATTLE — One person is dead after a shooting in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle early Monday morning. 

911 callers reported a shooting on the 1000 block of East Pike Street around 12:30 a.m. 

When Seattle Police arrived at the location, they found one person with a gunshot wound. Police provided aid until medics arrived and pronounced the person dead at the scene. 

The parking lot of a nearby Tito's Cantina has been roped off with crime scene tape and cars with bullet holes were being towed out of the parking lot, according to KING 5's Farah Jadran. 

Witnesses who were out celebrating during Seattle Pride reported hearing multiple gunshots and commotion around midnight.

Police are still investigating what led up to the shooting.
