SHORELINE, Wash. - There is a place in Shoreline that might look like a beacon for Minneapolis fans, but don't judge the bar by its sign.
"This is the Viking Sports Bar and Grill in Shoreline, Washington," said Michael Fogel.
He's a regular who has earned the nickname "The Mayor." Sitting next to him Thursday night was Chase Warren, better known as "The Co-Mayor."
"They have been here almost every single day we have been open," said employee Hayley Rai Johnson.
Patrons say there is no confusion at the 3-year-old bar, located in the 14000 block of 15th Avenue NE. The name on the door has nothing to do with who they are rooting for this weekend.
"At the end of the day, we are all diehard Seahawks," said patron Pam Jorgensen.
So where did the name come from?
"They like the name the Viking," said Johnson.
"The owner is Norwegian," Fogel added.
It is a bar full of characters who are all united by one team, and they are anxiously thinking about Sunday.
"I would say it is going to be Seahawks 21, Vikings 10," said patron Bob Serviss.
At the Viking Sports Bar and Grill, there is no identity crisis. It is simply a bar where the name does not say it all.
