Seattle is an expensive place to live, and child care is getting just as bad.
The average cost of child care in Seattle is $1,680 per month, while the median rent payment is $2,230, about $550 more.
But Seattle isn’t alone. A new analysis from HotPad, a Zillow Group brand, showed renters with children across the country almost spent as much on child care as they did on housing.
The average rent payment is around $1,500 per month nationally, which is about $115 more than the monthly average cost of childcare, according to the analysis.
