The Sonic Drive-In restaurant chain announced Tuesday that it will open 14 new locations in the greater Seattle area, adding to the five currently in Washington state.
The first drive-in is expected to open in the fall of 2014; the rest will open by 2018.
Oklahoma-based Sonic said it planned the expansion with a new franchise partner, Cascade Development Group.
The group is led by Richard Ramsey, who has previously owned and operated 15 Taco Bell franchises in the Seattle area. He has also worked in commercial facilities maintenance for KFC, Pizza Hut, IHOP and Denny's.
Sonic currently operates locations in Tacoma, Puyallup, Bonney Lake, Ferndale and Wenatchee, said the Puget Sound Business Journal, which first reported news of SONIC's new locations on Tuesday morning.
