1 killed in shooting in Seattle's U District Monday night

One man is dead after a shooting in the U District. In a separate shooting that also took place Monday night, two people were injured at Genesee Park in Seattle.

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating two separate shootings that both took place Monday night. 

The Seattle Fire Department responded to the U District neighborhood where a man was found shot dead at Northeast 42nd Street near the Interstate 5 on-ramp. 

SFD said first responders attempted to save the man's life, but they were not successful. The Seattle Police Department is investigating. 

No suspects have been identified.

In a separate incident, two people were injured in a shooting at Stan Sayres Boat Launch. Police said they received reports that shots were fired at around 8:30 p.m. and they found multiple shell casings at the scene. 

Two victims with gunshot wounds later showed up at area hospitals in private vehicles. One man was in stable condition at Harborview Medical Center and another victim showed up to Swedish First Hill and was later taken to Harborview. Their age and condition are unknown.
