SEATTLE — Seattle police have identified a woman whose body was found in the SODO neighborhood last week after her death was reported as "suspicious."
In a blotter post, Seattle police said officers found a dead 22-year-old woman near Sixth Avenue South around 11:17 a.m. on Dec. 12. Seattle police homicide detectives were called to the scene after being requested by the King County Medical Examiner's Office.
On Tuesday morning, the King County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as Maddison Draveling. A woman with the same name was reported missing to the Washington State Patrol out of Ellensburg on April 21, 2024. The WSP poster said the woman was 21 at the time she went missing.
Despite police saying the woman was found Dec. 12. The medical examiner's office indicates the "date of incident" as Dec. 10.
The medical examiner's office says Draveling was found behind 1765 Sixth Avenue South, but still indicates that her cause and manner of death are "pending."
