Some Comcast customers' 911 calls go to Canada overnight

Snohomish County 911 said the cause turned out to be a hardware failure at the call routing center in Chicago.

SEATTLE -- 911 is working again for Comcast telephone customers in Snohomish County after their 911 calls were rerouted to British Columbia early Tuesday morning.

Snohomish County 911 said the cause turned out to be a hardware failure at the call routing center in Chicago. It led to issues across the country.

The problem was limited to Comcast's Internet phone customers.Those with a traditional phone, not hooked up to broadband, were not impacted.
