SPANAWAY, Wash. A Spanaway school has canceled classes for the rest of the day after a Spanaway Lake High School Studentwas stabbed multiple times, allegedly bya fellow student, Wednesday morning.
The stabbing happenedat about10:55 a.m in aband area atLiberty Junior High School. Liberty is where Spanaway Lake studentsare attending class whiletheir buildingis being renovated.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says a fight began between two 18-year-old male students. One was stabbed in the head, ear and neck and has non-life threatening injuries.
The other student is in custody and deputies have recovered the knife.
No other students were hurt.
The school is under emergency evacuation and is being canceled for the rest of the day.
Deputies say there were some 30 witnesses to the stabbing.
