Stevens Pass reopens after overnight closure

US 2 Stevens Pass was closed overnight due to downed trees and adverse weather conditions.

KING COUNTY, Wash. — US 2 over Stevens Pass reopened just before 5 a.m. following an overnight closure caused by hazardous weather conditions and downed trees.

Westbound traffic was stopped at milepost 84 at Coles Corner. Eastbound traffic was stopped at milepost 66, two miles east of the summit of Stevens Pass

Stevens Pass shutdown just before 2:30 p.m. Monday. Heavy snow clung to tree branches, causing trees to snap and fall onto the roadway.

WSDOT cautions drivers to heed warnings and do not attempt to go around closure signs.
