Seattle drivers face a busy day Sunday when more than 200,000 people converge downtown for the annual Pride Parade, which will shut down streets and snarl traffic.

The 2017 Seattle Pride Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. along 4th Avenue at Union Street. The parade continues for about 2.5 hours on 4th through downtown and ends at Second Avenue and Denny Way near Seattle Center. The parade announcers' booth will be located at Westlake Park on 4th Avenue between Pike and Pine streets.

Streets will close starting from 7 a.m. to about 5 p.m. A map shows the parade route and staging areas.

Several other Pride events and happenings throughout the city will also impact traffic.

Festivities continue with Seattle PrideFest at Seattle Center from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. More than 30,000 people are expected to attend.

Cuff Pride Day Celebration: Pride Day celebration on 13th Ave between E Pine and E Pike streets from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. About 5,000 people are expected to attend.

Pride Party at Tilikum Park at 10 a.m. in the park adjacent to Cedar and 5th Ave. About 800 people are expected to attend.

Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field: Sunday, June 25, Mariners vs. Houston at 1:10 p.m. About 36,000 people are expected to attend.

Drivers can also expect heavy traffic on the freeways:

Participants in the Paradiso Festival in George and Spokane Hoopfest will be returning home to Seattle on I-90 via Snoqualmie Pass. Heavy construction continues on several projects between North Bend and Ellensburg. Drivers should expect lane closures in both directions.

Traffic on northbound I-5 through SeaTac and Tukwila: WSDOT crews continue their summer weekend work on the #ReviveI5 project. Only two northbound lanes of I-5 between SeaTac and Tukwila remain open throughout the weekend.

Early Sunday morning, both directions of SR 520 between I-5 and 148th Ave Northeast will be reduced to one lane intermittently beginning with the westbound lanes at midnight. Once westbound work is complete, crews will operate in the same area in the eastbound lanes. All lanes will reopen by 6:00 a.m.
