Detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting that killed a man in Bothell overnight.
The incident started shortly after 10 p.m. according to the Snohomish Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART) now in charge of the investigation.
Sheriff's deputies responded to 196th Place SW and 6th Drive SE in Bothell for the report of a disturbance, SMART said. The first deputy to arrive at the scene witnessed a pick-up truck flee at a high rate of speed.
The deputy pursued the truck and repeatedly attempted PIT maneuvers. When the truck came to a stop near N Damson Road and Filbert Road, still in Bothell, shots were fired and the male driver was struck. He later died at Harborview Medical Center.
SMART said a female passenger was inside the pick-up truck at the time of the pursuit and shooting but was not injured.
