The King County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to find the suspect from an assault and kidnapping attempt near Kent.
A 16-year-old girl told authorities she was jogging on Monday, August 13 around 11:45 p.m. in the area of S. 272nd St. and 42nd Ave. S. She reports seeing a dark-colored SUV parked along the road with a man standing outside. The girl said it seemed odd so she started to turn around, and that's when he grabbed her.
The girl says he clutched her throat and shoved her into the driver's side of the SUV. She reports struggling with him, screaming, and honking the horn. The girl says the man tried removing her clothes and she kicked him and scratched his face. The teen says her sweatshirt and shoe came off in the struggle, but she was able to run away and flag down a passing car for help.
The suspect is described as a white male, age 50-55, about 6'2" with a thin build and shoulder-length graying hair. The girl says he was wearing all dark clothing and driving a dark, older 4-door SUV, similar to a Toyota 4Runner.
The King County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information to call the tip line at 206-296-3311.
