TACOMA, Wash. -- Police say a male resident who was home at the time of an apparent break-in Monday shot and killed one of the intruders.
Spokesman Mark Fulghum says the resident heard suspects breaking into his home and secured himself in an upstairs bedroom. At least one of the intruders came up the stairs, and the resident fired multiple times through the bedroom door, killing the man.
Fulghum says one or more suspects fled the home after the shooting. Police have taken one man into custody.
