Suspects in custody after armed robbery, carjacking and assault near Lynnwood

The suspects robbed two people at gunpoint, stole a car and then crashed into a power pole early Saturday morning, deputies say.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Two suspects are in custody after robbing two people at gunpoint, stealing a car then crashing the car into a power pole early Saturday morning, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

At a Lynnwood-area apartment complex on Saturday morning, deputies responded to reports of a robbery and carjacking at gunpoint just before 2 a.m. After the first incident, the suspects then went to another nearby apartment complex in the 16800 block of Larch Way, according to SCSO.

Deputies say the suspects robbed a second person for money and shot him multiple times. The victim is in the hospital, according to SCSO.

Shortly after the suspects fled in the stolen vehicle, they crashed into a power pole. The powerlines fell onto the road and then the vehicle caught on fire, deputies say.

The sheriff’s office K9 units caught the suspects after they attempted to run away from the car fire, according to SCSO. One of the suspects is in the hospital with a broken leg, deputies say.

Snohomish County’s Public Utility District is working to repair the downed power lines.
