Driver pulled out of burning car after collision and fire at Tacoma gas station

The fire involved three vehicles and a gas pump at a Chevron gas station near the Tacoma Mall.

TACOMA, Wash. — A motor vehicle accident caused a fire at a gas station Wednesday afternoon, sending one person to the hospital, according to the Tacoma Fire Department, though no one was seriously hurt.

The Tacoma Police Department said a driver hit another car and continued driving on 38th Street before hitting a gas pump and another car at a Chevron station in the 3000 block of S. 38th Street.

An officer pulled the at-fault driver out of his burning vehicle, according to Tacoma police.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving, police said.
