TACOMA, Wash. — The family of a Tacoma mother found murdered in a park Monday morning, held a candlelight vigil to honor their loved one and call for justice as the search for her killer continues.
Candles, photos, and loved ones of Ngaire Tusi lined Oakland Madrona Park where the 31-year-old was found murdered Monday morning.
"This is definitely not God's plan for her life, this was the devil's plan for her life," said Natasha Aasa, her sister.
Natasha said her sister was full of life with friends who loved her dearly and were a huge part of her large tight-knit family.
"She left behind seven babies all under 10 years old," Aasa said. "She left behind parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends."
Those children now have to grow up without their mother and the rest of Ngaire's family are trying to cope with her loss.
"We all loved her and missed her dearly," Aasa said. "Our hearts are shattered. I don't know how I'm not crying right now because I've been so shattered by the loss of my sister."
According to Tacoma Police, officers responded to a call in the 3100 block of South Madison Street when officers found her dead. Detectives are treating her death as a homicide, but little details are available of what exactly happened or who the killer could be.
"We don't know any information," Aasa said. "We don't have any leads. We don't know anything, nothing. I really hope the police department and the detectives working her case are diligent and do their job and help bring my sister justice. She really didn't deserve this."
Ngaire's family is calling for justice and answers as they work to navigate a world without her in it.
"Holidays will never be the same for us, never," Aasa said. "Anyone that knows Ngaire knows she will never be forgotten. She will forever be mourned. We miss her. This doesn't feel real. It's unreal that we're here."
There have been no arrests and no suspect descriptions. Tacoma police said the investigation is ongoing.
Her family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs.
