Tahoma students make top 10 in national civics competition

High school students across the country displayed their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution at a competition called 'We The People.'

A group from Tahoma High School in Maple Valley represented Washington in the national competition and earned 7th place overall.

More than 1100 students from 52 schools demonstrated their understanding of government by participating in congressional hearings.

The Pacific Northwest was well-represented at the Finals, with Portland's Grant High School earning first place. Portland's Lincoln High School placed third. See the full results here.

The 31st annual event was held at the National Conference Center in Leesburg, Virginia from April 27 to May 1.
