This is what Ichiro ate before every Mariners game in Seattle

Want to eat like a Seattle Mariner? Mariners Team Chef Jeremy Bryant whipped up these creations and is sharing two winning recipes. 

Ichi-wings

What did Ichiro Suzuki eat before EVERY SINGLE game in Seattle? Ichi-wings!

Ingredients

5 pounds chicken wings

2 quarts Mr. Yoshida’s original gourmet sauce

Juice of one lime

Juice of one orange

¼ cup sesame oil

3 tablespoons chopped garlic

2 tablespoons chopped ginger

½ cup chopped green onions

¼ cup sesame seeds

3 tablespoons Sambal or Chinese chili paste

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Mix ingredients from Mr. Yoshida’s original gourmet sauce to chili paste together and pour over chicken wings.

3. Marinate wings and mixture overnight in the refrigerator.

4. Strain chicken wings and place on a baking sheet.

5. Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.

Seager Sandwich

Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager inspired his own sandwich. Teammates say, “Make me a Seager!” Now you can, too.

Ingredients

Soft sub roll

1 ½ grilled chicken breasts

Chicken breast marinade (see ingredients below)

4 strips bacon, cooked

1 slice pepper-jack cheese

1 slice cheddar cheese

½ avocado

Barbeque sauce

Chipotle sauce (see ingredients below)

Chicken breast marinade

2 ounces soy sauce

1 lime

2 tablespoons chopped garlic

1 ounce chopped cilantro

1 ounce chopped green onions

1 ounce olive oil

1 ounce Sambal (Chinese chili paste)

Chipotle sauce

2 cups mayonnaise

Juice of 1 lime

1 ounce chopped cilantro

1 ounce chopped green onions

4 ounces chopped chipotles

½ ounce soy-sauce

Granulated garlic, ground cumin, and salt and pepper to taste

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Mix all chicken breast marinade ingredients together.

3. Marinate chicken in marinade for at least four hours.

4. Grill chicken breasts on the barbecue and set aside.

5. Butter the inside of the bread and grill on flat grill or sauté pan. When golden brown, turn over and place cheese on the bread.

6. Bake bread and cheese at 350 degrees for 1 minute to melt the cheese.

7. Add bacon, chicken, and avocado to bottom slice of bread.

8. Mix mayonnaise, lime, cilantro, green onion, chipotles, soy sauce, and granulated garlic to make chipotle sauce.

9. Top sandwich with chipotle and barbeque sauces.
