Make sure to explore any apps or websites for your favorite stores. Take a few minutes to get to know the store's app or website. It can save you money that normally wouldn't be obvious to you if you were walking around the store.
Follow the sales. Take a few minutes to review the store's ads before going into the store. Many times the very best deals are on the front page of the store ad. Take a look and see if there's something you can stock up on or plan your weekly menu around to help save some money.
Be open to change and explore different options of savings. Russell says she started using Fred Meyer's online ordering system called Click List and noticed she was saving huge amounts of money because she stopped impulse shopping. She naturally shaved off about 25 percent from her order just by willing to try something new.
Buy bulk. Always see if there is a bulk food option for food you normally buy. Russell says she recently bought steel cut oats when they were 99-cents a pound at QFC. and that meant paying $1.49 for a bag of oats as opposed to $5 for a small container. Russell says she also likes to do this with spices or ingredients when she needs a small amount for a recipe.
Follow local blogs. Of course there's The Coupon Project, but Russell says there are lots of other great coupon clipping sites and frugal living websites that will help connect you to the deals that are at your go-to stores.
