SEATTLE — China Harbor Restaurant announced it is closing its doors after operating for over 30 years.
The current owners of the restaurant, who have operated it for the past five years, cited an industry-wide labor shortage, struggles to recover after the pandemic, and structural issues with the building as reasons for the closure.
In a post on social media, the owners thanked the community for its support over the years and said the difficult decision was not made lightly.
The statement read, in part:
"We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our customers, supporters and friends who have visited and stood by us. It was your support that helped us get through tough times and create countless cherished memories. We will always remember the details of this journey."
China Harbor Restaurant wasn't just known for its food. The restaurant also held large weddings, community events, and political rallies.
The restaurant will permanently close at the end of the month.
"Thank you for your understanding and support," the statement read. "We wish you all a future filled with delicious food and warm memories."
