SEATTLE — Lumen Field was packed Saturday, with the Seattle Seahawks' regular season still a few weeks out. As the home of the Hawks, KING 5 hosted the Seahawks Football Fest, drawing in thousands of fans on Aug. 3.
"Super Bowl or nothing right?! Every competitor, every coach, everyone a part of that organization that's what they want, that's what they're here for," said Cliff Avril, a Super Bowl champion and Seahawks legend.
Even in the off-season, Lumen Field brings the noise.
"The city loves them,” said Curtis Cates, a longtime Seahawks fan. “Win or lose, [the 12s] always behind the Seahawks."
"I love everyone of the Seahawks and even the coach,” said Maria Lourdes Snyder, another die-hard Seahawks fan. “The whole family and the people in America who root for the Seahawks."
Thousands of fans flooded the stadium, with a sea of blue and green filling the seats. Hawks fans were able to catch their favorite team back on the field for the first time in months.
"There's no better team in the NFL to put fans behind them and it’s fun to be here,” said Cates. “It's fun going home after a game and you can't talk for two days."
All fans are talking about this off-season is this new regime in Seattle.
"The players, everybody, I truly believe in those guys,” said Avril. “I'm looking forward to seeing what they're able to do and cause havoc in the NFL."
Not only does he believe this team will make noise this season. He knows the fans will too.
"12's just know how to show up man. I love it, I love it, that's why I stayed in Seattle,” said Avril. “The fans here, the 12's are truly a part of the team. They believe it, they dream it."
A dream fans hope will end with another Lombardi trophy.
"I just pray all the time that we all have a good and safe game,” said Lourdes Snyder. "And win, win, win. And go, go, go Seahawks!"
