SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Five days after a wild windstorm, thousands of residents in Snohomish County are still without power.
"It takes time," said Bob Holt of the Snohomish County Public Utilities District. The district said it had more than 70 line crews working to restore power Wednesday.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, the utility reported 7,500 residents were still without power. At the height of the power outages, there were 175,000 without power. The district said since major lines have been restored, only isolated outages are left.
Near Lake Goodwin, Kenneth Smith said he had to start getting creative after five days without power.
Since he doesn't have hot water, he decided to bathe in his backyard.
"I decided to go into the lake," he smirked.
His son, Eddy, was glad crews made it to their street to restore power Wednesday.
"Thank God they're actually here… finally," said Eddy.
As for the thousands without power, there's no estimate about when everyone in the county will have their power back on.
