SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. - Vincent Nutter, 22, was arrested Friday night after an intense manhunt.
Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Shari Ireton said the incident started around 2:25 p.m. when deputies tried to serve a search warrant to Vincent Nutter at a home in the 7000 block of Interurban Avenue. Nutter fled in a vehicle and a police pursuit ensued.
When the car stopped at the intersection of 180th St. SE and James Street, the suspect fled on foot. Several police units and search dogs were brought in to help in the search in the 180th Street SE area. A helicopter was aiding search efforts from above.
Residents in a one-mile radius of the scene (from 180th St SE to 188th ST SE to 51st St to Hwy 9) were being asked to stay inside their homes. One school was placed into lockdown. Just before 6 p.m., the lockdown was lifted and residents were being allowed to return home.
Later in the evening, someone in the area called 911 and said they thought the spotted Nutter in the 7000 block of 184th Southeast near Mill Creek.
Deputies arrived and found him 40 feet up in a tree. Nutter refused to come down, according to Ireton.
The fire department was called in and they brought out a high powered hose. After a couple blasts of water Nutter decided to come down and he was arrested on an outstanding warrant for weapons violations.
Vincent Nutter and his father, Mark Nutter, are on Washington's Most Wanted List. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office posted to their Facebook page on Thursday that they were searching for this dangerous father-son duo.
They've both stated they won't go back to prison, and have threatened to shoot it out with Snohomish County deputies, said Snohomish County Capt. Ty Trenary. We're concerned that the public could be at risk, which is why we'd like to get them safely into custody.
Mark Nutter is wanted by the ATF and U.S. Marshals. He's been on the run since September. His son, Vincent, has a criminal history that includes drugs, stolen vehicles, and property.
