TUKWILA, Wash. -- Two students have been arrested after a three-month undercover drug investigation at Foster High School in Tukwila. Police say the two teens and an adult, not connected to the school, were selling the amphetamine known as Molly, cocaine and marijuana.
Investigators started looking into drug activity at the high school after they noticed some near the campus a few months ago. Overall, the school district says the investigation showed drug use was not a common problem on campus.
They did warn parents to talk with their kids about marijuana, saying legalization for adults has led some teens to relax their attitudes about it.
"For minors it's still absolutely illegal. If you're on campus, it's a drug-free zone, so that even carries harsher punishment," district representative Sara Niegowski said.
Investigators say most of the drug transactions were set-up through social media and warned parents to keep an eye on who their teens connect with online.
