Go Dawgs! Cheer on UW in College Football Playoff National Championship at these local watch parties

From Seattle to Tacoma, several official watch parties are planned for fans to enjoy the College Football National Championship game Monday, Jan. 8.

SEATTLE — With excitement brewing for Monday's College Football National Championship game between the UW Huskies and Michigan Wolverines in Houston, several official watch parties are planned for fans and alumni. 

The actual kickoff, following the pregame festivities including a national anthem performance by Fantasia, will take place at 4:45 p.m., according to the NCAA. 

Pregame coverage will start much earlier, but the official game broadcast begins at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN. 

Get ready to don your purple and gold with fellow fans and enjoy the undefeated Dawgs at these local events. 

Seattle

University of Washington — Seattle: This event is sold out. The University of Washington is opening up its Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion for a viewing party on Monday. The university gave away 7,000 free tickets, all of which were claimed within hours of the announcement. Doors open at 4 p.m.

Redhook Brewlab: This brewery, at 714 E. Pike Street in Seattle, is hosting the official Huskies National Championship watch party beginning at 3 p.m. Monday. The watch party features a tailgate-themed buffet, a live DJ, exclusive UW merchandise and all-day Happy Hour drink specials. Tickets are $30 at the door and $25 online here.  

Tacoma

University of Washington — Tacoma: Fans and alumni are invited to watch the championship game at Poquitos Tacoma (649 Division Ave.) beginning at 3:30 p.m. Monday. Tickets include a taco bar and drink specials. Tickets are $15 at the door/if space is available and $10 when purchased in advance online here.

Bothell

University of Washington — Bothell: Husky alumni and friends can watch the game at Good Brewing Barrel House at 18204 Bothell Everett Hwy in Bothell. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and include two beverage tickets redeemable for some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, appetizers and giveaways throughout the game. Tickets can be purchased online here.

Additional places to watch the game Monday, no tickets required: 

Seattle Center Armory: The Seattle Center Armory Food and Event Hall (305 Harrison St., Seattle) will be showing the game on a big screen in a free, public event. Attendees can expect food vendors and a beer garden.

Seattle Public Library: The Seattle Public Library’s Central Library (1000 Fourth Ave., Seattle) is hosting a free watch party in the Level 1 Microsoft Auditorium. Doors to the auditorium open at 4 p.m. Library events are free and everyone is welcome and no tickets are required; the auditorium can accommodate about 265 people.

Barking Dog Alehouse: 705 NW 70th St. in Seattle. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Offering nacho bar, hot dogs and appetizers. Viewers can bring their own food and snacks. 

Big Mario's Northlake Tavern: 660 NE Northlake Way in Seattle, offering drink specials and raffle prizes.  

Chucks Hop Shop Central District: 2001 E. Union St. in Seattle. Build-your-own taco bar available during the game while supplies lasts.

Little Water Cantina: 2865 Eastlake Ave. E. in Seattle. Game shown on the heated, enclosed patio. Drink and food specials offered all night. 

Ounces Taproom and Beer Garden: 3809 Delridge Way SW in Seattle. Doors open at 4 p.m.

Re:Public: 429 Westlake Ave. N. in Seattle. Showing the game on projection screens. Food and drink specials all day. 

Stilos Kitchen & Bar Greenwood: 10406 Holman Rd. N. in Seattle. All-day Happy Hour from 3-9 p.m.

Whisky West: 6451 California Ave. SW in Seattle. Food and drink specials all day, along with contests and prizes.
