Warmest January 11 on record for Seattle

Sea-Tac hit 61 degrees on Friday, breaking the old record of 59 degrees set back in 1987.

It was practically balmy in Seattle on Friday. This January 11 brought record warmth to Sea-Tac, where the official gauge is kept.

Friday heated up to 61 degrees, breaking the old record of 59 degrees set back in 1987.

It felt springlike across Puget Sound, seeing as 61 degrees is the average high temperature for April 30.

KING 5 Weather Meteorologist Ben Dery reports January 11 was the warmest day since last November 2, which hit 62 degrees.

Our dry spell will continue through the weekend. Most areas can expect partly to mostly sunny skies on Saturday and a sun-filled Sunday.
