Spectacular sight in Puget Sound: SkyKING spotted orcas swimming between Seattle and Bainbridge on Monday afternoon.
A group of three orcas took turns surfacing near Elliott Bay. A nearby boat was also seen watching from a safe distance.
Washington state recently passed a series of orca protection bills, aimed at reducing noise pollution and giving whales enough buffer between boats. The Salish Sea Protection Act deals with oil spill prevention and keeping a healthy marine environment.
